You could probably say I took many turns throughout college...I started out in the education field after two semesters I didn't think I would like teaching for a career, so I transfer to the business college. After my undergrad, I started working in an accounting firm and soon realized I didn't like it...so I went back to college to get my graduate degree in secondary education. This was the BEST career decision for me. After 10 years of teaching, I can honestly say this is a career for me...I consider myself a "big kid" who loves to go to school each day!
I teach business and technology education. I have a “brain” for numbers, problem solving, being financially sound and technology, therefore business education is the perfect fit for me! But most importantly through teaching, I get the opportunities to help develop tomorrow’s leaders -- and I love this! All the students who walk through my doors are challenged to develop and enhance their 21st Century skills, and they learn to value lifelong learning.
Each day I get the opportunity to model what I teach. Teaching business and technology challenges me to be a lifelong learner. The business and technology worlds are constantly changing. I cannot stay stagnate and must continue to be innovative. Each and every day I embrace the opportunity to change the world one idea, one lesson, and one student at a time!
